  • For those keen on capturing the moment, photographers are available, but do brace yourself for potentially lengthy wait times. If you're part of a tour, aim to ascend to the top swiftly to allow ample time for photography and the option to have your pictures printed on the spot. This strategic approach ensures you make the most of your visit and leave with tangible memories of this iconic landmark.






2) Sunset Sailing Tour:

  • Opt for a magical sunset sailing tour if you choose to embark on this adventure during the summer, ensure you're equipped with sunscreen, a hat, and shades to shield yourself from the sun. Our personal experience in the fall featured perfect temperatures, though the clouds played hide-and-seek with the sunset, denying us that particular spectacle.


  • The cruise had amazing sights, delightful array of snacks and an unlimited supply of water, wine, and the iconic Brazilian cocktail, Caipirinha.   • If you have a passion for history, this tour is a must-try. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Little Africa but be prepared for a comprehensive 4-hour experience that involves a 2-mile walk.


  • Pack a small backpack containing essentials for a comfortable exploration. In the summer, bring along a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to shield yourself from the sun. For fall visits, consider a small jacket, as temperatures can catch you off guard. Regardless of the season, having water on hand is essential. We learned this firsthand during our October visit when the unexpected cool temperatures surprised us during the tour. Be well-prepared and enjoy delving into the historical treasures of Rio's Little Africa.





4) Paragliding or Parasailing:

  • Dive into the exhilarating world of paragliding or parasailing for an unforgettable experience. While I couldn't partake in the adventure personally, my friends raved about its amazing thrill. Here's a tip from them: bugs can be bothersome at the mountain's summit, so don't forget the bug spray to ensure a bug-free ride.


  • For those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, relax on the beach while your thrill-seeking companions take flight. Rent beach chairs and umbrellas, and for under $20, enjoy the best of both worlds with the option to purchase refreshing drinks. Just remember, bug spray is a must for an all-around great experience, whether you're soaring in the skies or soaking up the sun on the sandy shores of Rio.



5) Dining on Sugarloaf Mountain:
